I am pleased to announce that the 2008 Convention is over. I think that it was a wonderful success. I would like to give a big hug to all of our wonderful volunteers who put in so many hours to provide our kids with a wonderful time.
Thank You to the Vendors who taught so many amazing classes! Especially to those of you who stepped up at a moments notice covering the cancellations. All of my girls reported having a WONDERFUL time. They can't wait until next year.
I will be posting my class Homeschooling is a Piece of Cake over the next few days. As promised I will include the website links here. I will also go back and let you in on some of the behind the scenes drama that goes on when planning a convention.
In my opinion this convention was a wonderful success. I am hopping that those of you who were there will post your opinions.
Some of my personal favorite memories include Chef Kraig teaching the preschool cooking class. (He stepped up to the plate on less then 24 hours notice) Northwest Treasures amazing black light display of glowing rocks. (i did not know rocks could be so cool.) Red Gallery's Mask Class was named a favorite of three of my four children. Civil Air Patrol's fizzy rockets, and rubber band rockets were Meg's favorite. She is still shooting the rubber band rocket around the house. Polished Apple did a wonderful job of teaching parents how they can use their home to create a stimulating and educational environment. Focus on Character had wonderful lessons and activities to help teach biblical character traits. I think my kids need to retake the obedience class!
I also want to say a special thank you to Sensi Zack from Yakima School of Karate. He also stepped up and covered three classes when we had a last minute cancellation.
I have lot more to share with you. Just as soon as I get some laundry done.
